Permission to Be
Jen Alise shared the power of accepting and inviting one’s self to just “Be”. This workshop dived into the many facets that revolve around E-motion. We addressed the feeling, the emotions and energy that move and have moved through the body and how to physically move in ways to release static patterns.
The power that come with fully accepting that it is ok to just “Be” exactly who you are is a freeing feeling. Having a guide lead you down the path and hold space to release, accept, yell, cry, smile and laugh all in the same hour was incredible.
Jenn Alise led our group through meditation first and invited us to look at our neighbor in the eye. This was in the first 10 minutes of class, and to look another human being in the eye and hold contact to SEE them and really look at them was beautiful. There is a saying that you can look into someone soul by looking them in the eye. I was able to experience that within this safe place, I would never hold eye contact on my own that long, but within that space and with permission to feel and be as we are I found comfort and joy in discomfort.
We then moved through each chakra with different movement, sound and focus. As we experienced the different chakras being awakened, I found myself shedding thoughts of “am I doing this right?” The answer was yes, you are here, you are moving and you are doing it right, because you are being you in this moment. There were moments I cried, there were moments I beat my fist on the mat, but there were moments of feeling power, moments of seeing myself as a whole and complete person, moments of radiating joy and vibrating on a level that felt like my true self.
This experience was incredible for me and I am grateful to have have been able to participate and host this workshop. I believe Jenn Alise is scratching the surface of what is available and what will come from her gift sets in empowering people to “Be” as they are. With gratitude and anticipation for the next Radical Release: Permission to Be Event, I say Aloha & Namaste.
